Watch: Keith Dambrot Announces Retirement Following Season

On Monday, Keith Dambrot announced during a press conference on the campus of Duquesne that he is retiring following the conclusion of the season.

In seven seasons at Duquesne, Dambrot has taken the program to new heights, including an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament this season after defeating VCU in the Atlantic 10 Championship on Sunday.

Securing an 11 seed, the Dukes will appear in their first NCAA Tournament since 1977 as they face No. 6 BYU in Omaha, Nebraska.

Dambrot picked up and left his hometown team in Akron to take a chance and resurrect the Dukes and he did just that, securing three 20-plus wins in his seven seasons at Duquesne.

This season has been difficult for Dambrot off the court as his wife, Donna, has been battling breast cancer and was a significant reason Dambrot has decided it was time to call it a career,
