Duquesne earned an automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Tournament on Sunday, winning the Atlantic 10 Tournament over VCU in a battle in Brooklyn.
Now, the Dukes have their sights set on the big dance. In Sunday’s selection show, the Dukes were announced as a No. 11 seed set to play against No. 6 seed BYU on Thursday in Omaha, Nebraska.

BYU finished the season 23-10 and earned the No. 12 NET ranking in the country. The Cougars finished tied for fifth in their first year in the Big 12 Conference. BYU is led by Jaxson Robinson, Trevin Knell, and Fousseyni Traore. The team was eliminated by Texas Tech in the Big 12 Tournament. In that game, the Cougars looked to Robinson for 18 points on 6-for-18 shooting.
Duquesne won the A10 Tournament behind a red-hot eight-game wining streak. The Dukes’ star guards Dae Dae Grant and Jimmy Clark III have led them all year, but in the game on Sunday, the Dukes’ received scoring from all over. Duquesne is now playing in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1977.
