According to a report by Brad Everett of the Pittsburgh Union Progress, Pitt will add another walk-on for the 2024-25 season.

The Panthers will add Hampton big man Liam Mignogna. Mignogna, a 6-foot-9 forward, scored 23 points in Hampton’s state playoff game against Lincoln Park on Monday night in a rematch of the recent WPIAL final game. In that game at the Petersen Events Center, Mignogna powered his way inside to the tune of 20 points and nine rebounds. Mignogna has scored over 1,000 points in his high-school career.

In the 2023-24 season, Pitt had the following walk-ons on the roster: Benjamin Mayhew (Wilkinsburg, PA), Vason Stevenson (McKees Rocks, PA), JaJuan Nelson (Philadelphia, PA), and KJ Marshall (Reading, PA) who earned his way to a scholarship.

What channel? I’m guessing you must be at least 75 years old? 80 maybe?

I don’t know about the player. Maybe he doesn’t require a scholarship and just wants to play at PITT. Or, NIL, maybe. Or, 6’9″ hitting 3s in state playoff games he figures he will earn a scholarship. Intriguing to me. H2P.

Maybe he’s already accepted at PITT for academics and wants to play basketball
