PITTSBURGH – It’s a night the Oakland Golden Grizzlies will never forget. On college basketball’s biggest stage in front of over 17,000 people inside PPG Paints Arena, Jack Gohlke stole the show.

No. 14 seed Oakland stunned No. 3 seed Kentucky 80-76 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Thursday night in the South Region.

Gohlke scored a game-high and career-best (at Oakland) 32 points and drained 10 threes in 20 attempts. He later returned to the arena and took pictures with Oakland fans and supporters in celebration. Gohlke embraced the moment and spoke on what the game meant to him as a graduate student now known throughout the country.

Horizon League Player of the Year Trey Townsend recorded a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds in an impressive performance made for March.

Guard Rocket Watts explained what Gholke is like as a teammate, the feeling of winning an NCAA Tournament game, and what this does for Oakland University.
