A local prospect received his first Power 4 offer, and it came in a big way from his hometown team in the Pitt Panthers.
Shep Turk, an offensive lineman in the Class of 2025 out of Thomas Jefferson High School, landed the offer from the Panthers on Friday.

“It feels good being a hometown kid with this offer,” Turk told Pittsburgh Sports Now.
Standing at 6-foot-5, 270-pounds, the offensive tackle likes to play a physical brand of football on the field, he says.
That may stem from his work off the field as he also excels as a two-sport athlete, dominating on the wrestling mat.
He recently won a WPIAL 3A title at 285 pounds after beating Waynesburg’s Roan Tustin back on March 2.
Pitt has built a connection over the years with Thomas Jefferson, including Devin Danielson. The defensive lineman suited up for six seasons with the Panthers recording 78 tackles and 4.5 sacks.
Turk’s recruiting process has heated up lately, holding offers from Maine, UMass, Eastern Michigan, Duquesne, Army, Temple and now Pitt.
