Robert Morris Hosts Former Ball State Guard on Visit

Robert Morris is once again attacking the transfer portal as the Colonials look to build back up their roster.

On Monday, the Colonials hosted former Ball State guard Trent Middleton Jr., a source tells Pittsburgh Sports Now.

In one season with the Cardinals, Middleton made seven starts, while logging 18.1 minutes per contest.

He provided a nice scoring touch off the bench as a freshman, averaging 6.2 points per game, while connecting on 43 percent of his shots from the field and going 45.5 percent behind the arc, making 20 of 44 attempts.

Prior to his time with the Cardinals, the Philadelphia, Pa. native spent a prep season with Spire Academy in Geneva, Ohio.

There, he averaged 12 points and eight rebounds and three assists per game on the way to a 2023 Ohio Prep Conference Championship.

Before his prep season, he played at Philadelphia Math, Civics, and Sciences Charter School where he was named the Philadelphia Public League Player of the Year during his senior campaign.

The Colonials are in need of some depth at the guard position behind TJ Wainwright, Justice Williams and Alfredo Boglio.

Robert Morris was hoping to retain senior guard Josh Corbin and swingman Jackson Last, however, both entered the portal in mid-March.

Middleton’s visit comes as the second for RMU in the last week with D-II guard Wes Enis from Lincoln Memorial University visiting the program last week.
