Thursday’s Best Draftkings Bets: Cavaliers-Celtics, Rangers-Hurricanes, Mavericks-Thunder
What could’ve and should’ve been a positive night for the Winning Picks ended badly finishing 1-2. The over was able to cover for us in Bruins/Panthers as Florida evened the series in a blowout win. Indiana could not keep pace with the Knicks and did not cover the spread. The Oilers blew a 4-2 lead in their Game 1 and lost to the Canucks. We moved to 276-234-3 on the year.
With Paul Skenes now officially being called up by the Pirates, some of you may be thinking about betting him to win the NL Rookie of the Year. If you are, you better do it now. Skenes odds have dropped from +1200 earlier this week to +1000 on DraftKings at this moment. And if the star righty as I great first game against the Cubs, that number could be even lower on Sunday.
The LSU product will have some work ahead of him if he wants to win the award. The three lowest odds to win the award are two Japanese imports in Shota Imanaga (+225) and Yoshinobu Yamamoto (+350) and his Pirates teammates Jared Jones (+400). If Skenes is as close to being as good as advertised this season, he could very easily win the award. It doesn’t hurt that the rookie also has a viral and trending girlfriend in Livvy Dunne, which will work in his favor when it is time to vote.

It was great for Cleveland to avenge their first-round embarrassment to the Knicks last season by beating Orlando in seven games. The only problem with that was they were being fed in the next round to the Boston Celtics. If Game 1 was a reflection of what to expect in this series, this is gonna be a brutal one for Cavs fans.
The Celtics took a double-digit lead into halftime of that game and poured it on even more in the second half in what became a 25-point win. Boston is just too much for Cleveland and I expect the same story tonight. I always hate these double-digit spreads in the NBA but the Celtics will roll over the Cavaliers again tonight.

Carolina has their work cut out for them tonight in Game 3 as they look to get back in this series as they host New York down 0-2 in the series. Game 2 was a huge blow for the confidence of the Hurricanes, especially losing in double overtime. The Rangers might actually be a team of destiny this year.
As for tonight’s game, I do think the Hurricanes will win tonight but the MoneyLine on them is too rich for my blood. What I do like in this game is the over. Expect a lot of scoring chances with Carolina having their backs against the wall.

Game 1 didn’t go exactly like it was planned for the Dallas Mavericks. The young Thunder squad put a vice grip on the Mavs offense, holding them to only 95 points in their Game 1 win at home. For Oklahoma City, that was the most points they had given up so far in the playoffs.
I do expect the Mavericks to play better tonight. They will be forced to play the Thunder’s game and they will adapt better to it tonight. Though I don’t think Dallas will win, they will get the cover tonight.
