Stanford is leading the way with the most Olympians out of any college, and has already taken home several medals.

The ACC has already had a busy summer, adding Cal, Stanford, and SMU to the league.

Now, during the 2024 Paris Olympics, the conference is seeing its athletes thrive on the biggest stage of international athletics, in large part due to the Cardinal athletic department.

There are 60 olympians representing Stanford in this year’s Olympics, surpassing the previous Stanford record of 57 from the 2020 Olympics.

According to the University, Stanford has the most athletes out of any university in the games this year.

“For the third consecutive edition of the Games, Stanford boasts more Team USA selections (37) than any other school, easily outpacing UCLA (17), USC (16), Texas (14) and Penn State (14) to round out the NCAA’s top five,” according to this article.

Stanford already has five medals through just several days of competitions in the Olympics. Legendary swimmer Katie Ledecky won the bronze medal in the 400 free competition. Track Stanford’s medals here.

Stanford has accounted for the most medals so far out of any school in the ACC, making a huge mark for the conference early on. Stanford has represented well in each of the recent Olympics’, as shown by the graphic below.
