PITTSBURGH — Pitt volleyball head coach Dan Fisher, sixth-year outside hitter Valeria Vazquez Gomez and middle blocker Bre Kelley talked on Friday about the Oregon thriller, along with the upcoming Elite Eight matchup.

No. 1 Pitt volleyball’s Sweet 16 matchup inside the Petersen Events Center took a full five sets against Oregon as the Panthers outlasted the Ducks 3-2, winning the fifth set 15-12.
Vazquez Gomez recorded 11 digs, along with three service aces in the win. Kelley notched 12 kills and a team-high six block assists.
The Panthers move on to their fifth-straight NCAA regional final to take on Kentucky. The Wildcats are the No. 3 seed in Pitt’s region and boast the SEC Player of the Year in Brooklyn DeLeye.
Pitt and Kentucky will battle with a trip to the Final Four on the line on Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Petersen Events Center.
