On Saturday night, Duquesne earned a huge win over Towson at Saint Vincent-Saint Mary’s High School in Akron, Ohio, 65-47.

Duquesne continued to dominate on both sides of the ball throughout the first frame, holding Towson to just 17% shooting from the field on an abysmal 5 for 29 from the field. Offensively, the Dukes had a solid half shooting the ball, making six of 16 three-point attempts. The Dukes also won the rebounding battle in the first half, grabbing 22 to Towson’s 16 in the frame.
Crawford continued to pace the Dukes in the second half, along with Necas and Matus Hronsky.
However, after leading by 15 at the half, the Dukes had to fight off a ferocious Towson comeback effort minutes into the latter half. Towson scored 24 of the half’s first 40 points, cutting the Dukes lead down to seven with just over five minutes to play.
From the 6:50 mark of the second half to the 2:14 mark, the Dukes went on a crucial 14-2 run to ice the game. In the run, David Dixon hit numerous free throws and Tre Dinkins hit several big-time buckets, including a late three pointer. After two more Towson free throws to end the run, Dinkins drained the dagger, another three pointer that increased the lead up to 20 points for the Dukes.
With the win, Duquesne advanced to 3-8 on the season. Duquesne will now take on UC Irvine on Dec. 21 at home. That game will tip off at 2:30 p.m.
