Top 2023 Prospects From Western Pennsylvania Visit West Virginia Football

Published

on

Neal Brown and his staff hosted a handful of recruits from Western Pennsylvania on Tuesday night, that included two elite prospects.

On what is described to WVSN as a “priority visit”, the West Virginia football program hosted 2023 4-star wide receiver Rodney Gallagher from Laurel Highlands, and 2023 4-star linebacker Ta’Mere Robinson 2023 3-star defensive end Kameron Cheatom and 2023 running back/linebacker Shawn Solomon Jr., all from Brashear High School.

Gallagher is a two-sport priority for both Brown and Mountaineers basketball coach Bob Huggins, as he holds offers from both programs. In football, Gallagher holds offers from Pitt, Penn State, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, NC State Ole Miss, Michigan, Michigan State, Maryland and Arizona State. In basketball, he holds offers from Pitt, Wake Forest, Rhode Island, Penn State, Illinois, George Mason and Florida.

“The visit was great,” Gallagher told West Virginia Sports Now. “They show a lot of love to me down there and want to build a great relationship with me. The coaching staff is great and the facilities are nice all around.”

Gallagher is rated as a Top 100 junior in the country by both 247 Sports and Rivals.

Robinson is another national recruit that is also ranked as a Top 100 junior. At this stage of his recruitment, Robinson holds offers from West Virginia, Pitt, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Syracuse, Rutgers, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Maryland, Kentucky, Cincinnati and Arkansas.

Cheatom (6-foot-3, 220 pounds) is a tremendous athlete, so look for his recruitment to take off in the near future. At this point, he holds offers from Akron, Kent State and Toledo.

You don’t want to go down to Morgantown fellas. You can get a more valuable and respected degree here at Pitt. Be a hometown hero and produce for your hometown team here at Pitt.

Gallagher wants to play hoops as well. Neal Brown runs a better offense and the WVU basketball team is a much bigger attraction that what Pitt is doing right now.
