Former Pitt WR Maurice Ffrench Activated To LA Chargers 53-Man Roster

Big news for former Pitt star wide receiver Maurice Ffrench.

On Saturday, the Los Angeles announced that Ffrench has been promoted from the teams Practice Squad and and will be active for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Ffrench is in his first season with the Chargers after spending the entire 2020 season on the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad. French signed with Kansas City as an undrafted free agent after starring with the Panthers. During his four year Pitt career, Ffrench aught 156 passes for 1,637 yards (10.5 per catch) and 10 touchdowns. He was a dynamic special teams player, returning 27 kickoffs for 652 yards (24.1 yards per return).

Ffrench joins a talented Chargers wide receiver unit led with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. The Chargers wide receivers unit is coached by former Pitt wide receivers coach Chris Beatty.
