Pitt Opens as 10-Point Favorite over Syracuse

Pitt has opened as a 10-point favorite for its regular-season finale at Syracuse this Saturday, according to odds released on Sunday by BetOnline.ag.

The Panthers are 8-3 against the spread this season, having failed to over a 13-point margin against Virginia on Saturday. 

Eight times this season, the Panthers gone over the total, while their games have gone under three times.

Syracuse is also 8-3 against the spread this season, while the Orange’s games have hone over the total five times and under six times.

Pitt has won three straight against Syracuse and seven of the last eight. The longtime conference foes have played one another every season since 1955.

Syracuse is one of three ACC teams who need a win to become bowl eligible. They will be more dangerous than Miami (we all know how that one turned out). In week 2 Narduzzi/Bates refused to show anything but a base defense against Western Michigan (we all know how that one turned out). But for the Coastal crown, that was the right decision. On Virginia’s last series, Armstrong threw the same passes on third and fourth down that were successful for WMU but with different results. Take the points, Perfect scenario for a let down aided by our defense not playing up to a champion’s standard, especially after how they played in a very meaningful game last week.
