PITTSBURGH — Pitt football head coach Pat Narduzzi sat down with the media Thursday for his weekly briefing to discuss the Panthers’ 3-0 start and Youngstown State matchup.
Narduzzi went in depth on how Pitt needs to maintain its focus with an FCS program like Youngstown State and what type of challenges the Penguins will present. YSU is another run-heavy team that tends to dictate time of possession, so Narduzzi noted how Pitt will have to counter that style of play.
Additionally, Narduzzi highlighted how effective Pitt’s base defense has been and how the Panthers are able to disguise a variety of blitzes.
Defensive players like d-end Nate Matlack, safety Donovan McMillon and the three starting linebackers — Kyle Louis, Brandon George and Rasheem Biles — have all been impactful through the first three games, Narduzzi added.
