Butler’s Ethan Morton Jumps Up in Latest 247 Ratings

The profile of Butler junior guard Ethan Morton continues to rise.

Thursday, 247 Sports raised Morton in their Top247 player ratings. The recruiting website moved the local star up 21 spots from No. 83 up to No. 62 in their Class of 2020 basketball rankings. As far as the 247 Composite, which combines the rankings from 247 Sports, ESPN and Rivals, Morton is now ranked No. 43.

Morton is currently a four-star recruit but could move to a five-star player by the time he graduates from Butler. If that were to happen, he’d be the highest-rated local basketball recruit since Herb Pope back in 2007.

As expected, Morton is a top target for Jeff Capel and his staff for next year’s class and over the weekend, Morton made an unofficial visit to see Pitt play.

Morton has a long list of offers but some of the programs that he’s believed to be interested in the most are (no order): Pitt, Ohio State, Northwestern, Michigan, Marquette, Purdue, Stanford and Indiana.
