Bowl invitations will officially be offered on Sunday but it’s looking like the Pitt football team will spend Christmas in New York City.
A source tells Pittsburgh Sports Now that Pitt is very confident that they’ll receive an offer from the Pinstripe Bowl (December 26. In this game, Pitt will likely take on a Big 10 opponent (Nebraska, Indiana, Wisconsin??)
The one thing that could possibly change this is if North Carolina upsets #1 Clemson tomorrow night in the ACC Championship Game.
As I reported Sunday, Pitt officials were heavily recruiting the Pinstripe Bowl for an invitation. The school really wants this bowl because they feel it’s the best chance for them to sell tickets and bring fans.
