Props to KDKA TV’s Rich Walsh for being person to uncover information on Pitt’s search for a new offensive coordinator.
Walsh reported that former NC State offensive coordinator Matt Canada is currently in town interviewing for the job. From what I understand, Canada was out last night having dinner with members of Pitt’s offensive staff.
Here’s some information on the prospective candidate: Canada is from New Palestine, Indiana and went to college at Indiana.
Canada’s Resume-
N. Illinois RB Coach: 1998-2000
N. Illinois QB Coach: 2001-02
N. Illinois QB Coach/Offensive Coordinator: 2003
Indiana QB Coach: 2004
Indiana QB Coach/PGC: 2005
Indiana QB Coach/Offensive Coordinator: 2007-10
N. Illinois OC/ QB Coach: 2011
Wisconsin OC/QB Coach: 2012
NC State OC/QB: 2013-15
In 2014, Canada interviewed for the Tennessee OC job and ended up receiving a 3 year extension from NC State. Surprisingly though, NC State decided to fire Canada on Janaury 3rd.
Nothing official but Pitt could have their new offensive coordinator in Matt Canada.
