Aaron Thompson

—Let’s see what this Wednesday brings us in terms of news and notes.

**Could Kevin Stallings be on the verge of his first commitment?  Virginia 2017 point guard Aaron Thompson confirmed to me late last night that he’ll be visiting Pitt this coming Friday.   Thompson was the first player that Stallings offered after getting hired at Pitt.   Thompson (6-2, 175) tells me that he’ll be making the trip from Fairfax, Virginia with his parents.   I like Pitt’s chances of landing this point guard.

**Thompson is checking out Pitt on Friday but a possible transfer will be on campus today.  Central Florida transfer Adonys Henriquez left the Central Florida program is Pitt is the first school he’s visiting.   The sophomore shooting guard averaged 10.1 PPG last season, shooting 50% from the field and 35% from 3-pt range.

Henriquez has started at Central Florida since his freshman season, when he averaged 10.8 PPG and led the team in minutes played.   The people at Central Florida were surprised at his decision to leave.  Following his trip to Pitt, Henriquez is also scheduled to make a visit to St.  Louis, Utah and TCU.   Jamie Dixon will be trying to out recruit his former team for this player.

UPDATE (10:57 AM)-
**Talented Beaver Falls 2018 WR Malik Sheppard received an offer today from Akron, which is his 4th offer.

UPDATE (1:02 PM)-
**Another offer for Penn Hills 2018 WR Julian Major, this time from Boston College.

UPDATE (3:10 PM)-
**I was told that Pitt DL coach Tom Sims would be in Georgia recruiting all week.  It appears as though he’s spotted a prospect to offer a scholarship to.  WR Chad Terrell from Dallas, Georgia was just offered.  I’m hoping to talk to him soon.

UPDATE (3:39 PM)-
**According to Jeff Borzello of Fox Sports, Ohio State transfer Daniel Giddens says his four finalists are: Alabama, TCU, Georgia and Pitt. Giddens (6-10, 220) was a big-time prospect in the Class of 2015 with offers from Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, Maryland, Texas and UCLA.  Considering his upside AND the position he plays, Giddens would be a huge get for Pitt and Kevin Stallings.

Giddens, who played high school ball at Oak Hill Academy, is the 2nd member of Ohio State’s freshman class to transfer. This past season, Giddens averaged, 3.8 PPG, 3.6 rebonds and 1.5 blocks per game  (team-high) in a limited role.   Giddens was a Top 60 player last season when committing to Ohio State.

UPDATE (4:24 PM)-
**Bethlehem (PA)  WR Darian Street picked up an offer this afternoon from UConn.  Street picked up his first offer from Pitt and is viewed to be a heavy lean towards Pitt.

UPDATE  (6:29 PM)-
**3-star Thomas Jefferson linebacker Zane Zandier picked up an offer today from Cincinnati.  I wouldn’t be surprised if Pitt eventually offered Zandier.

UPDATE (7:05 PM)-
**Deerfield Beach, Florida DE  Deslin Alexandre received an offer tonight from Pitt.  Alexandre (6-3, 229) two biggest offers are from Syracuse and Temple.   Alexandre is just another Florida athlete to have received an offer from Pitt this week.

UPDATE (7:11 PM)-
**An interesting move made tonight by Pitt as they offer an athlete that’s already committed to another school.  Bryce Watts from Tom River, New Jersey is verbally committed to Rutgers but picked up an offer from the Panthers.  Watts (6-1, 165) is being recruited by Pitt as an athlete and tonight I spoke briefly with him.

“Well, Coach Kabala started by asking how my recruitment was going. Then he expressed how he loved the way I play the game. Next thing I know, Coach Kabala said we want to offer you. Coach said that they were aware of my commitment to Rutgers and also wanted to be apart of the recruiting process”, said Watts.

UPDATE (9:23 PM)-
**Another offer made by Pitt and yep it’s to another Florida athlete. Ft. Lauderdale middle linebacker Diego Fagot (6-3, 230) got the news.  Pitt is the first Power 5 conference team to offer Fagot
