Report: Chawntez Moss Done at Pitt

It appears as though Chawntez Moss is no longer part of the Pitt football program.
After a week of speculation about his future, a tweet this morning confirmed what we were hearing last week but couldn’t confirm.
Sophomore running back Chawntez Moss will not be back with #Pitt in 2018.

Just minutes ago, Chris Peak of Rivals tweeted that Moss won’t be returning to Pitt. PSN has reached out to officials at Pitt to confirm this but hasn’t gotten a reply yet. Last week, PSN contacted a high-ranking Pitt official about this speculation but never got a return message.
Moss had off the field incidents in 2017 that led to multiple suspensions. Although PSN hasn’t confirmed this, we assume that these issues are the reason for his reported dismissal from the team.
After a promising freshman season where he looked to be Pitt’s back of the future, Moss disciplinary issues led to him only receiving 42 carries in 2017.
Assuming this report us accurate, Pitt’s 2018 running back depth chart will include Darrin Hall, AJ Davis, Todd Sibley, Quadree Ollison and a back that they bring in from this year’s class.
UPDATE: Moss talked exclusively with PSN about him moving on from Pitt:
