Pitt 2019 Target Dereon Seabron Commits to NC State

Pitt class of 2019 recruiting target Dereon Seabron has committed to NC State after taking an official visit to Raleigh over the week.

Ironically, the Wolfpack defeated Pitt on Saturday while Seabron was in attendance. Pitt was late to offer Seabron, with Jeff Capel just extending an offer last week.

Just before he took his visit to NC State, Seabron narrowed his field of schools to five: NC State, Pitt, Georgia, Providence and VCU.

Seabron, a 6-foot-5 combo guard originally from Norfolk, Virginia, is playing a prep year at Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, Virginia.

He was the only guard that Pitt was currently targeting in the 2019 class, which remains without a verbal commitment. Pitt will have at least five open scholarships.

Pitt is more heavily involved with several big man targets, including four-star center Qudus Wahab, three-star forward Karim Coulibaly and three-star small forward Gerald Drumgoole.

Wahab is reportedly making his decision on Jan. 30. Commits can’t being signing with their schools until April 17.
