The Atlantic Coast Conference plans to push forward despite rumors and reports that other conferences are considering cancelling their 2020 football season, according to a report by Pat Forde of Sports Illustrated.

Forde reported the ACC athletic directors met on Monday and are “moving forward in an attempt to play.”

Most national reporting has surrounded the Big Ten conference as potentially being the most likely to cancel, with the Pac-12 potentially going along with them.

Pitt’s preparations for the 2020 season were paused on Monday, but it was a scheduled day off for the Panthers after completing three days of workouts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Pitt is currently scheduled to resume workouts with practice in pad shells only.

They should play. These kids work too hard and need athletics in their lives. I think we all have had enough of the government telling us what we are allowed to do.

There’s no doubt that playing this Fall will enhance the chances of some of Pitt’s players getting NFL offers. I’m for playing because I love Pitt football. I’m also for it because I believe the team/coaches have the discipline to avoid exposure and the medical support to handle any cases that arise. Look what happened at Clemson. When the players were out in the community 37 became positive for the virus. When Coach Dabo got them in house they did the isolation and other things to prevent spreading. Now Clemson is virus free. Pitt can do this. Let them PLAY!

Our schools are run by touchy feely idiots. The season will be cancelled. Maybe a late winter 10 game season? I hope they do something for the kids especially the seniors.
