All 105 is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series profiling each of the 105 members of Pitt’s 2021 training camp roster.

21 • A.J. Davis Jr., redshirt senior running back

Last year: Played in 10 of 11 games and started the season opener against Austin Peay.

Stats: Davis ran for 266 yards and a touchdown on 61 attempts and added 10 catches for 45 receiving yards.

Camp outlook: After leading the team in carries and rushing in 2019, Davis took on a back up role to Vincent Davis in 2020. Only time will tell who emerges as the leading man out of the backfield for the Panthers.

Projected role: The Lakeland, Fla. native will earn his fair share of carries, likely splitting time with Vincent Davis and Israel Abanikanda in a possible running back by committee setup.

Accolades, Highlights: Davis was ranked by ESPN as the number 14 running back in the nation coming out of high school and was number 140 on the ESPN 300. He was also selected as an Under Armour All-American in 2016.
