51 • Preston Lavant, freshman outside linebacker
Last year: Helped Crisp County High School in Georgia to an 11-2 record and an appearance in the state Class 3A semifinals.
Stats: The 6-foot-2, 200-pound recruit had almost 120 tackles as a junior and followed that up with 80 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and an interception in his senior year.
Camp outlook: Lavant joins an experienced crew at outside linebacker, with seniors Cam Bright and Phil Campbell III and graduate transfer John Petrishen.
Projected role: Lavant will likely see minimal reserve action and be redshirted.
Accolades, Highlights: Named to the All-Region 1-AAA first team as a senior and was a Top 100 prospect in Georgia.
