After a quiet couple of weeks for Pitt basketball recruiting, Jeff Capel extended an offer to a four-star guard by the name of Desmond Claude.
After a great conversation with coach Capel and the coaching staff I am thankful to receive an offer to the University of Pittsburgh pic.twitter.com/QYnO0wI0Wb

The 2022 prospect plays for Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut. According to the 247 Sports Composite, the 6-foot-5, 190-pound point guard is ranked as the No. 95 player in the nation, making him one of only 13 remaining players in the 247 top-150 player rankings.
Desmond Claude quietly made a big impact for Expressions at Southern Jam Fest. A legit PG at 6’5”, he has a sturdy body and plays with a solid base & balance when attacking. I really liked his pace and how he knew when to get his own points or find others throughout the weekend. pic.twitter.com/slXnRxM4pB

Claude’s recruitment blew up over the summer, picking up offers from Xavier, Marquette, Kansas State, Creighton, Providence, Seton Hall, and Boston College all in early June. As of late, he has also added offers from Pitt, Louisville, Wake Forest, Maryland, South Carolina, and more.
After Judah Mintz’s recent de-commitment from Pitt, the Panthers do not have a single commitment in the 2022 class, and are still looking for a guard, a wing, and a big, according to Capel.
