After a quiet couple of weeks for Pitt basketball recruiting, Jeff Capel extended an offer to a four-star guard by the name of Desmond Claude.
The 2022 prospect plays for Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut. According to the 247 Sports Composite, the 6-foot-5, 190-pound point guard is ranked as the No. 95 player in the nation, making him one of only 13 remaining players in the 247 top-150 player rankings.
Claude’s recruitment blew up over the summer, picking up offers from Xavier, Marquette, Kansas State, Creighton, Providence, Seton Hall, and Boston College all in early June. As of late, he has also added offers from Pitt, Louisville, Wake Forest, Maryland, South Carolina, and more.
After Judah Mintz’s recent de-commitment from Pitt, the Panthers do not have a single commitment in the 2022 class, and are still looking for a guard, a wing, and a big, according to Capel.
Zero commitments for next year….tells you Capel can’t sell this program and the kids don’t like what they see in this program. Time for a house cleaning.
At this point just start cheating like everyone else.
When another player gets arrested and you lose to The Citadel, what does Coach Smoke and Mirrors do. . . let’s see I’ll throw out an offer to some 4-star guard. . . yeah, yeah, that’s it then people will forget we have no players and can’t beat a team with a 300+ KenPom rating.
