Cory Sanders/Pitt Makes Early Morning Visit to See Rodney Gallagher

The Pitt football coaches will spend the upcoming week doing a ton of time on the road as they travel from school-to-school recruiting some of their top targets.

Technically, they aren’t permitted to be speaking with these players, so the coaches will be speaking with the coaches of these players, and the recruits will know who was there to see them.

Pitt’s Western Pennsylvania recruiter Cory Sanders started Monday morning with an early stop at Laurel Highlands to see 4-star wide receiver Rodney Gallagher. On Sunday, Gallagher announced his Top Eight schools, which included Pitt.

Last week, Gallagher made an unofficial visit to Pitt, which was important for Pitt in the sense of Gallagher continues to build a bond with Panthers wide receiver coach Tiquan Underwood. The better that relationship becomes, the better Pitt’s chances are of trying to land this special player.

Over the weekend, Gallagher made his first visit to Notre Dame and this coming weekend, he’ll travel to State College to spend some time at Penn State.

While other schools are in contention, the battle for Gallagher could very well come down to Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia and Notre Dame. The dark horse team in this could very well be Neal Brown and West Virginia.
