Pitt Football Official Visits Start Tomorrow

For the past three to four months in particular, college football coaches have been working to recruit their Class of 2023.

The biggest way to make an impact on a player is to get them to come to visit your program for an official visit. During that time, players have the opportunity to stay overnight and spend a couple of days around the coaches, around the players and touring the university along with the football facilities.

Unlike an unofficial visit which usually lasts for just a day, an official visit gives the players a chance to spend quality time with members of the team, and also, they have the opportunity to get a feel of the campus and the culture of the program.

Official visits are crucial which is why coaches work so hard to try and get their top targets to make them.

While official visits for Pitt really begin on Friday, some players will be arriving in Pittsburgh on Thursday evening.

Pat Narduzzi and his staff have a history of performing very well with official visits as the Panthers have a history of loading up on June commitments.

The question is will that continue this year?

Something to keep in mind is when certain recruits are making their official visits. By that I mean, the Pitt coaches obviously have different players ranked higher on their recruiting board and since they can’t take an unlimited number of recruits, certain players can make a commitment at any time. The reality is that isn’t the case with every player that’s making official visits. For example, if Pitt is only looking to take two wide receivers in their recruiting class and already have one in the fold as they do with 4-star recruit Zion Fowler, they’re likely to be very particular on that second wide receiver commitment.

Something that fans need to be reminded of at this time of the year, every scholarship offer is not committable. That’s something to keep in mind.

With all of that being said, here’s a recap of the players that Pittsburgh Sports Now has confirmed will be making official visits this weekend.

Just dawned on me, those linebackers who transferred were probably lured away with NIL money. Free agency college style.
