Along with several other prospects who Pitt is currently recruiting, 2023 guard Jaland Lowe will be taking a visit to Pitt on the weekend of Sept. 9-11, a source confirmed to PSN.

Lowe is a three-star guard ranked as the No. 136 prospect in the nation. In recent weeks, he has jumped up near the top of Pitt’s recruiting board after a strong summer playing with Houston Hoops, averaging over 12 points and five assists per game.

“He called me, I was just chilling,” Lowe told Pittsburgh Sports Now shortly after picking up an offer from Pitt HC Jeff Capel. “We talked about how he never expected to see this moment. He used to see me as a kid, when John Lucas and my dad [Marland Lowe]. He never thought he’d be recruiting me one day, so he just told me about that. I remember when he was at Duke and I was in middle school, and he let me visit the place at Duke. Now, he saw me playing AAU. He’s just proud of me. He said he liked the way I play, and he offered me.”

Lowe stands at 6-foot-1, and recently was one of the top performers at Nike’s Peach Jam event. There, he averaged 17.7 points and 4.7 assists per game en route to earning First Team All-Tournament honors from to The Circuit.

“I think I’m just a true point guard,” Lowe said about his skill set. “I have a real good feel for the game. I play really hard and really competitive. I play in a well-mannered and a good pace.”

Lowe will be visiting alongside guard Jaylen Curry (2023) and forward Matthew Gilhool (2024) that weekend when Pitt plays Tennessee in football.

The Panthers are also hosting guard priority Ty-Laur Johnson from Sept. 1-3 for an official visit. The full, updated recruiting board can be found at the link below.
