Pitt redshirt junior defensive back Devonshire earned ACC Defensive Back of the Week honors for his play in the 38-31 win in the Backyard Brawl last Thursday.

Devonshire made the key play in the victory in the fourth quarter. He picked off Mountaineers junior quarterback JT Daniels’ pass that bounced off redshirt junior wide receiver Bryce-Ford Wheaton. He then returned the interception 56 yards for a touchdown and the go-ahead score, shifting the momentum of the game for the Panthers and getting the win soon.

Devonshire is the first Pitt defensive back to earn these honors since Erick Hallett II did in a 28-7 win over Virginia Tech in Week 7 of the 2021 season. He finished with three total tackles, one solo and two assisted, and two passes broken up along with the interception against WVU.

The Panthers are Devonshire are currently preparing to take on Tennessee this Saturday, Sept. 6 at Acrisure Stadium at 3:30 P.M. and stay perfect on the season.
