On Christmas, Pitt received a commitment from one of the top junior wide receivers, 4-star recruit DayDay Farmer.

Although it’s not a commitment, Pat Narduzzi also got some more promising recruiting news from a top junior, as Class of 2024 four-star defensive end Elias Rudolph released a Top 10 that included Pitt.

Rudolph (6-foot-5, 220-pounds) is from the Taft School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Rivals.com rates Rudolph as the No. 182nd overall junior prospect, the No. 10 junior defensive end and the No. 3 prospect in the state of Ohio.

Joining Pitt in Rudolph’s Top 10 are Ohio State, Tennessee, Michigan State, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Michigan, Arkansas, Georgia Tech and West Virginia.

Randy Bates and Pitt were the first Power Five program and second overall team to extend an offer to Rudolph back on January 18, 2022.

Pittsburgh Sports Now caught up on Christmas with Rudolph to ask him about Pitt and why they’re a team he’s considering.

”I love Pitt the energy when I’m around the staff players and in their facilities,” said Rudolph. “Pitt coaches show true character and I admire that my main recruiter is Coach Bates. We have a pretty nice connection and he has been the one coach that has been to see me several times so that stands out. I think he is great at what he does I plan on making a visiting to Pitt real soon.”
