Interesting Pitt 2024 Recruiting News on Christmas; Tre McLeod Next?

Christmas Day provided a few interesting storylines for Pitt fans to follow over the upcoming months.

The biggest came in the form of DayDay Farmer, a 4-star wide receiver from Cocoa, Florida, committing to Pitt and becoming the second member of their Class of 2024.

Farmer is headliner as he’s ranked as a Top 100 recruit by Rivals.com. His commitment is a huge get for his main recruiter Tiquan Underwood and for Pitt, as in the end, they beat out both Penn State and West Virginia.

The second development of the day, and while it wasn’t on the scale of Farmer’s commitment, it’s an encouraging sign for next year’s recruiting class.

Ohio 4-star defensive end Elias Rudolph released his Top 10 schools, and it included Pitt. PSN spoke with Rudolph who credited his relationship with defensive coordinator Randy Bates and also said he plans to visit Pitt real soon.

The other thing of note that took place yesterday was a Twitter exchange between current Pitt commit 2024 4-star defensive tackle Jahsear Whittington and another highly rated player Tre McLeod.

McLeod is a 4-star running back Cheltenham High School in Wyncote, Pennsylvania. Rivals.com rates McLeod (5’11”, 190-pounds) as the No. 17 2024 running back and a Top 200 junior player. Along with Pitt, McLeod holds offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Penn State, Syracuse, Texas A&M and West Virginia.

Later in the evening, following the commitment of Farmer, here was a Tweet between him and Whittington. This of course, got the reaction of Pitt fans and no doubt members of the coaching staff.

While this could just be two players from the same area having fun on Twitter, it might also be something more than that. I guess the upcoming months will have the answer to that.
