PITTSBURGH — Pitt will be without a few starters against No. 17 North Carolina Saturday night.

PSN previously reported that Bangally Kamara would not play against UNC, and now it can be confirmed that Matt Goncalves, Jake Kradel and Sean FitzSimmons will be inactive against the Tar Heels.

Goncalves, who was injured last week against West Virginia, is being replaced in the lineup by Branson Taylor, with Ryan Baer sliding into the starting lineup at right tackle. And Kradel, whose absence is undisclosed, is being replaced by Terrence Moore at center. Both Baer and Moore are making their first career starts.

FitzSimmons missed the first two games of the season with an injury, returned to play last week against West Virginia, but it appears his injury has flared back up. The veteran defensive line corps will rotate as usual.

Pitt has a number of new starters in the lineup Saturday as Bam Brima and Kyle Louis are making their first starts this season at defensive end and linebacker, respectively, and Deandre Jules has slid back into the lineup.
