Monday’s Best ESPN BET Bets: Raiders-Chiefs, Celtics-Lakers, Ravens-49ers

I wanna start out the winning picks by saying Merry Christmas. May your day be filled with cheer and joy surrounded by family. We were able to win you some extra Christmas money yesterday with a 2-1 day. The Flacco led Browns easily covered against the Texans, which helped the Steelers a lot in their quest to get into the playoffs. The Patriots were able to cover and win outright at the Broncos. Bill Belichick played the grinch last night. The over had no chance in Cowboys/Dolphins, red zone turnovers killed it. We move to 64-50-2 on the year.

We have an action packed day of games in the NBA and NFL. I wonder if the NFL will continue to have games on Christmas next year as the day falls on Wednesday in 2024. You know the Steelers and Ravens have experience playing on that day. As always with this many games, I will give out some leans.

In the NFL, I believe the Giants will somehow cover against the Eagles. Philly is struggling too much to be favored by 2 touchdowns versus anyone. Jalen Hurts should find the end zone on a Christmas Tush Push. Tommy DeVito, aka Tommy Cutlets, should go over his passing total, especially if the Giants have to rally late.

As with the NBA, look for the Nuggets to cover versus the Warriors. Golden State really misses Draymond Green on the defensive end. In the night cap, look for the Heat to cover against the 76ers with Joel Embiid out for this game. The Suns should get some Christmas revenge against the Dallas Mavericks, making up for their blowout loss to the Mavs in the playoffs a few years back.

Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs (-10.5) O/U 40.5  1:00 PM on CBS

Are you ready for a Taylor Swift filled Christmas? The leader of the Swifie army should be in attendance to watch her boyfriend Travis Kelce face the Raiders on Christmas Day. When Taylor is there, Travis plays well. Expect Kelce to find the end zone.

This is probably the first time in NFL history that a team is a double digit underdog after scoring 63 points and winning by more than 40. That is the spot the Raiders are in. Do I expect them to score that many against the Chiefs? No, but I believe there will be a lot of points scored in this game.

There should be no problem for Kansas City scoring. They have scored at least 30 points against Las Vegas in their last 5 meetings. The Chiefs team total is 26.5, so you should target that as well in this game. Overall, I believe the total is way too low in this game. Weather could be a factor, but I don’t see it slowing Patrick Mahomes and their opponent down.

Over 40.5 Covers, Las Vegas Raiders 20 Kansas City Chiefs 34

Boston Celtics (-3.5) at Los Angeles Lakers O/U 234.5 5:00 PM on ABC

The oldest rivalry in the NBA takes the stage on Christmas as the LA Lakers host the Boston Celtics. Boston is in the middle of a long west road trip while the Lakers return home from one of their own. And they are gassed.

LeBron James even said it himself, the Lakers are fatiguing at this juncture. But with one of the Lakers biggest rivals in the house tonight, I believe at least LeBron will be up for the task. And why wouldn’t he? He has dominated the Celtics.

Last season, LeBron averaged 37 points in two games against Boston. And to top that, he has scored over 30 points in his last two Christmas games. This is the perfect recipe for taking the LeBron Over 27.5 point total. That will be my pick for this game. I would lean to cover, but LeBron James over points is the play for Christmas.

LeBron James Over 27.5 Points Covers, Boston Celtics 115  Los Angeles Lakers 110

Baltimore Ravens at San Francisco 49ers (-6) O/U 46.5 8:15 PM on ABC

We get a potential Super Bowl preview tonight as the Baltimore Ravens travel to San Francisco to face the 49ers. This game used to be the Harbaugh Bowl over a decade ago, but Jim moved onto Michigan. Could that matchup happen again next year? Well it won’t be between these teams as Kyle Shannan has done another masterful job as coach.

Baltimore hasn’t lost in more than a month as with San Francisco. Both Lamar Jackson and Brock Purdy are neck and neck for NFL MVP. This game should determine who ends up winning that award. I expect both to play very well in this game and find the end zone through the air and on the ground. Possibly to tight ends George Kittle and Isiah Likely from the air.

I am going to take the Ravens to cover in this game. I feel that is way too many points for a team of Baltimore’s caliber. The 49ers may win in the end, but it won’t be by much. For the record, 7 straight underdogs have won outright on Monday Night Football. Keep that in mind when picking this game.
