Published

on

Over the weekend, Pittsburgh’s top high-school basketball prospect will be taking another official visit as a part of his recruiting journey.

According to Joe Tipton of On3, Thomas will take an official visit to Auburn to visit Bruce Pearl and his program this weekend.

On September 1, Thomas released his top-12 schools list, a list that included Pitt, Kansas State, Indiana, Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, Auburn, Tennessee, UConn, Michigan, Miami, and Villanova.

A 6-foot-4 combo guard, Thomas is ranked as the No. 9 overall prospect in the 2025 class according to 247 Sports. Thomas, who stars for Lincoln Park Performing Arts, is a five-star prospect. He is teammates with current Pitt signee Brandin Cummings, and has been at several different Pitt games this season watching his hometown team. Recently, he was in attendance for Pitt Vs. No. 8 North Carolina at the Petersen Events Center.

would love to see him follow his teammate to Pitt, but Pitt has rarely been able to reel in the top prospects, even when they were winning. Steven Adams was a family friend of Dixon, convinced that is the only reason he came to Pitt, then Dixon would not utilize him fully. If Duke offered, Blair would have gone there in a heartbeat. Dante Taylor was a top recruit, but ne never really panned out above an average college player. my original point stands, Pitt cannot always match what the big programs can offer in terms of NBA draft possibilities or, now, NIL money

Sorry Eric, I misread your comment. I was not aware of Duke offering Blair. Been a few years, I may have forgotten that.

Currently, Capel is landing more of them, and he did that from the ground up with absolute trash when he came here. He has a great relationship with that Lincoln Park program and the young man as well. A player of this caliber is going to take his visits. Carrington is a lock for the NBA this year or after next. That will be a motivator for this player and others to come.
