Pitt Extends Offer to Big 2025 4-Star Offensive Tackle from Georgia

Pitt has been in contact with Chastan Brown for a while now, mainly over the phone, but Archie Collins made it out to Northside High in Warner Robins, Ga. earlier this week.

Brown — a 6-foot-6, 260-pound four-star offensive tackle from Northside — received an in-school visit from Collins, and it was the continuation of a strong relationship that has been built over the last few weeks.

“I think (Collins is) a good guy and like I said, I’ve already created a bond with him,” Brown told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “So, I’m getting to know him. We were talking about the scholarship, getting me on campus and stuff like that. Photoshoot, tour of campus, stuff like that, Junior Day.”

Collins and Pitt were just the most recent offer for Brown, joining Boston College, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Duke, Georgia Southern, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Iowa State, Troy and Tulane.

It’s still early in the relationship between Brown and Pitt, with Brown still really getting to know Collins and the Pitt coaches, but there’s a bond that is being formed. There’s an in-person experience on the books now after a lot of texting to kick off the relationship.

As a kid from Georgia, Brown wasn’t too familiar with Pitt prior to the offer being extended, but he heard all about the “City of Champions” and that certainly stood out.

He’s never been to Pittsburgh, but that could be changing soon. Collins and the Pitt coaches are angling for Brown to make it out for Junior Day.

There’s nothing in the works as it currently stands, but Brown said that he is working on scheduling a visit for Junior Day and making it out to check in with the coaches and advance his relationship with the program.

Brown, a big, athletic left tackle who helped the Eagles in Class-6A action, has plenty of room to add weight to his massive frame. He’s thin as it currently stands, but he should be able to add plenty of weight while still maintaining his speed and agility at the point of attack.

247Sports rates Brown as the 166th-ranked recruit in the class (17th-ranked offensive tackle and 27th-ranked recruit from Georgia). Neither Rivals nor On3 have rated him yet, but that will change in the coming weeks as his recruitment continues to blow up.

Brown is in high demand at this point in his recruiting process, with Duke, Florida and Florida State among the schools he’s currently hearing from, and that interest will only continue to grow in the coming weeks and months.

He’s looking for a school that will be able to build him up as a man. He acknowledged that football will end one day, it ends for everyone, and he wants to be ready for life. So, football is obviously important, but Brown is looking for a school that can prepare him for life. And he’s looking to commit this summer.

Pitt, while still a fresh offer, is in good shape. As it stands, Brown is in good standing with the Pitt coaching staff. But there’s plenty of work to be done going forward.

The Panthers are in the mix for four-star linebacker Dayshaun Burnett (Pittsburgh, Pa.), three-star athlete Emmanuel Taylor (Virginia Beach, Va.), three-star offensive lineman Raphael Greene (Cincinnati, Ohio), four-star wide receiver Jadyn Robinson (San Juan Capistrano, Cal.), three-star running back Jeffrey Overton Jr. (Woodbridge, Va.) and three-star edge rusher Sharlandiin Strange (Wyncote, Pa).

Interesting time for PITT football. I’m hopeful the new hires will get more inroads to Georgia and Florida kids. I hope Coach Narduzzi let’s these new guys coach football, giving them lots of room. He said he “didn’t interfere much” in the Cignetti era offense. He should let that trend continue next season. H2P!
