Pitt Football set to host Class of 2025 Virginia athlete Emmanuel Taylor on an unofficial visit

Class of 2025 athlete Emmanuel Taylor announced last month that Pitt was in in the top three for his college recruitment.

Now, Taylor plans on truly examining the Pitt program to see whether it’s a place that he truly could see himself spending the next four years of his life.

Taylor, who stands 6-foot-2, 195-pounds, and is from  Green Run High School in Virginia Tech, Va, said Wednesday that he will make an unofficial visit to Pitt on March 8.

“My decision to come visit Pitt was me wanting to get face to face interactions with the coaching staff in order to build connections with each individual,” Taylor said. “Also, to see the landscape of the university that I might attend for the next 3 to 4 years. My current relationship with the Panthers staff is decent but it was grown over the last few days. I previously communicated with Coach [Andre] Powell and Coach [Pat] Narduzzi and hope that the communication and connection grows more in the future.”

“The thing that interests me most about Pitt is the love and culture that they have amongst the establishment. I would love to be surrounded by individuals that represent and take those two things seriously as I do.”

Back on Jan. 5, Taylor announced that his top three schools were Pitt, East Carolina and Liberty. Taylor also holds offers from Duke, Virginia Tech, Charlotte, Temple, Old Dominion, Coastal Carolina and Marshall.

Pitt extended an offer to Taylor back in November, with former running backs/special teams coach Andre Powell serving as a lead recruiter for the Virginia recruit, but it appears that linebackers Ryan Manalac has also been involved for the talented athlete.

Taylor possesses good size, and since he’s played wide receiver and linebacker at the high school level, schools will recruit him for both positions. But he looks like to fit best as a star linebacker for the Panthers. Star linebacker, or most commonly known as an outside linebacker, play more in coverage and provide help over the middle and against receivers for the defensive backs.

He was an explosive defensive playmaker for Green Run in 2023, racking up 120 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, four sacks and six touchdowns, and his athleticism flashes just about every time he steps on the football field.

Taylor has already made a few recent unofficial visits to Liberty (Jan. 27), East Carolina (Jan. 28) and West Virginia (Feb. 3). After visiting Pitt, Taylor plans on checking out Old Dominion on March 16.
