Brandin “Beebah” Cummings’ decorated high school career is nearing it’s final pages, but the end of the story is still unwritten.

The future Pitt Panther is eyeing a second consecutive state title after already securing back-to-back WPIAL crowns.

That dream came another step towards reality after a PIAA second-round win over Uniontown on Tuesday in which Cummings poured in a game-high 32 points.

Despite Uniontown scoring 14 unanswered and leading after the first quarter, 23-9, Cummings and company overcame the deficit for the 66-62 victory. Cummings was scoreless in the opening quarter as he went on to drop in 20 points in the second half.

The top-rated player in the state and Pitt target, Meleek Thomas, contributed 24 points for the Leopards.

Lincoln Park commenced its state tournament run with a 73-56 win over Montour on Friday where Cummings yet again paced the Leopards with 28 points in the final game on his home floor.

Cummings scored 16 points in the WPIAL Class 4A championship game on his future hardwood at the Petersen Events Center on Feb. 29.

The Leopards will continue its journey towards another state title when they take on familiar foe in section rival North Catholic on Friday, March 15 with a site and time TBD.
