WATCH: Duquesne PostGame A-10 Title/NCAA Tournament Selection Show

NEW YORK — Duquesne basketball ended their long postseason drought, winning the Atlantic-10 Championship over VCU Sunday afternoon at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Following the game, associate head coach Dru Joyce III and players in forwards, graduate student Dusan Mahorcic, senior Tre Williams and first-year Jakub Necas spoke on the experience of winning the title and what it means for each of them personally.

Senior guards Dae Dae Grant and Jimmy Clark III, along with head coach Keith Dambrot spoke later with the media at a press conference. Grant and Clark discussed their journeys, what winning the title does for the team as a whole and how the hard times have made them better overall. Dambrot congratulated his players’ performances and talked about winning a title late in his career.

Duquesne with the win in the A-10 Championship game then watched the NCAA Tournament Selection Show at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn bridge to see where they would go. They earned a No. 11 seed in the NCAA Tournament and discovered their opponent as No. 6 BYU, who they will play in Omaha, Neb. on Thursday at 12:40 p.m. eastern standard time.

Clark and Grant gave their opinions on watching the NCAA Tournament Selection Show, their joy to go further in the postseason and how they hope to end their collegiate careers on top. Dambrot spoke on how he has approached these games in the past as head coach of Akron and how the team will prepare ahead of their First-Round clash.
