On Wednesday, Pitt’s Bub Carrington announced that he will enter the 2024 NBA Draft, concluding his Pitt career after just one season.

Carrington, a 6-foot-5 freshman guard out of Baltimore, Maryland, averaged 13.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. He shot 41% from the field and 32% from three-point range this year as a Panther, and dropped a triple double in his first career collegiate game, a blowout win over North Carolina A&T.

🥲 Sad day for Pitt fans. Wish nothing but the best for the kid! What a season he had. We are just greedy wanting to see more. Good luck Bub!

Not too sad. His going to the NBA has the desired affect coach Capel is striving for. This move is important in landing some elite recruit(s) as that recruit will have a much better promise of starting immediately.

Carrington said main reason to choose Pitt was the playing time so as to show his ability. And he made a good decision and did exactly that. Good luck and keep making good decisions for the rest of the life.

He is selfish no player in college should be able to leave after one year you made a commitment to that school to be there you should have to stay there and there should not be a transfer portal either it wrecks college sports if one team wants all the best players all they have to do is have the best players get on one team.

Scholarships are renewed annually. It’s NOT selfish to think of his future. Try wishing him success.

Hope he made the right decision. I think he would have benefitted from one more year at Pitt. For his sake, I hope I’m wrong.

You should change this sentence to, “I think I would have benefitted from one more year at Pitt.” You could care less about what’s best for Carrington’s future.

This is why the girls game was more viewed then the boys game. We are losing the best players to the nba, which I get it, but the majority who make this move are not panning out and out of the league in 2-3 years, unfortunately, and out of basketball.
