Wednesday’s Best Draftkings Bets: Pirates-Mets, Penguins-Islanders, Hawks-Bulls
Another day, another 1-2 finish for the Winning Picks. The Mets were able to pick us up our only win as they defeated the Pirates after Jared Jones was pulled early. The Flyers could not help the Penguins and lost to the Capitals, eliminating the Pens from the playoffs. On the West Coast, the Warriors were hammered by the Kings to send them home early. We moved to 251-194-3 on the year.
On Saturday, I discussed how wide open the betting market is for the NL Central. All of those teams could finish within 6 games of each other. But there is another division that shares a few natural rivals with the NL Central that could be just as wide open: the AL Central.
Right now, the Cleveland Guardians are not only in first place but first in the betting odds at +185. This is followed by the Twins at +230, the Tigers at +300 and the Royals at +400. The White Sox are next, but they are way out of it already. I would be surprised if they win 50 games this season. They are listed at 200/1 to win the division.
You can find value and either of the top 4 teams to win this division still. For my money, Cleveland and Detroit have the best chance to win it. The Twins are right there too, but they have a lot of injuries they are dealing with.

They say in New York if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere. For the Pirates bats, they have not been able to make it in New York since arriving at Citi Field. After starting out the season at a torrid pace at the plate, the Bucs hitters have cooled off. Oneil Cruz’s timing is off. Henry Davis needs a tennis racket at the plate to even make contact. What a mess.
Bailey Falter hopes to continue his good fortune on the mound today, which I think he will, but don’t expect the bats to come around. That is why I like the under to cover in Queens this afternoon.

Pittsburgh Penguins (-130) at New York Islanders O/U 5.5 7:00 PM on SportsNet Pittsburgh
For the second straight season, the Penguins will play a game that means nothing in the last game of the year. Though they are in the playoffs, this game also means nothing to the Islanders as a loss does not affect their position in the playoffs. They will face Carolina in the first round no matter what happens tonight.
Now, we have seen a defeated and broken Penguins team before. Last year against Columbus they did not show up and lost. The same when Guentzel was traded earlier last month. I believe the same goes tonight, and the Islanders beat the Penguins to close out the regular season.

The Atlanta Hawks have become a staple of the NBA play-in tournament since it was created. They have spent the last 2 seasons finding their way into the playoffs, going 2-1 across 3 games. The Bulls won a 9/10 game last year but fell to the Heat for the last playoff spot.
Honestly this game is pretty much a toss-up with both teams playing bad down the stretch. Atlanta lost 6 straight to close the season but did beat the Bulls a few weeks ago. With the way the Hawks play defense or don’t play defense really, I like the over to cover in the night cap of the play-in tournament.
