Tuesday’s Best Draftkings Bets: Pirates-Mets, Capitals-Flyers, Warriors-Kings
The Winning Picks had a rough go of it Monday night finishing 1-2. Our only victory was the Penguins, who kept their slim playoff hopes alive by beating the Predators. The Pirates fell to the Pirates after the bullpen struggled to keep it a tie game. A 6 run 5th inning propelled the Padres to beat the Brewers. We moved to 250-192-3 on the year.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs will kick off with or without the Penguins next week. To be honest, this is the most wide open I have ever seen the NHL coming into the playoffs. There are probably at least 4 teams from each conference you can hoist the Stanley Cup at season’s end.
There are currently 6 teams with odds under +1000. This includes the Hurricanes, Panthers, Avalanche, Oilers, Stars and Rangers. When you compare that to the NBA, they only have two teams under +1000 and they are both under +300 in the Celtics and Nuggets. We are in for an exciting Stanley Cup playoffs no matter who lifts the cup in the end. It could even be the Penguins if they find their way in.

My biggest criticism of Derek Shelton has always been how he handles his pitchers, mainly with when he needs to take them out. Martin Perez fell victim to that for the first time as a Pirate, and it will probably happen again. Shelton loves to try and extend outings for his pitchers, even when it is not the right call.
Jared Jones will take the hill tonight against former Pirate Jose Quintana. His time may have been brief in Pittsburgh but he was able to show he had gas left in the tank. I don’t like this matchup for Jones because, as with the Phillies, the Mets have guys that love to crush a fastball. New York has a few leave the ballpark and the Pirates lose their second straight at Citi Field.

It doesn’t happen often, the Penguin fans will have to cheer on those scumbag Flyers tonight if they want to make it into the playoffs. The Pens need wins by both the Flyers and Canadiens tonight in order to stay alive in their playoff chase. Both the Capitals and Red Wings won last night, but will have to play a back-to-back tonight.
You know John Tortorella would love to stick it to the Penguins by losing tonight to the Caps but the Flyers are also still alive for the playoffs. With that being said, I believe Philly plays great tonight and they get the regulation win over the Capitals.

The Warriors and Kings played an amazing 7 game series last year in the first round of the NBA playoffs. It was full of drama and it was beautiful. But this year, we will only get to enjoy that beauty for one night as they clash in a 9/10 play-in game in Sacramento.
If you are not familiar with the play-in tournament with the NBA, the rules are simple. The winner of this 9/10 matchup moves on to play the loser of the Lakers/Pelicans game. If you lose tonight, your season is over. And with one game with the season on the line, I cannot go against Stephen Curry. The former MVP leads the Warriors to a cover and date for the last playoff spot in the West on Thursday.
