Thanks to everyone that visited the site yesterday, as we has a tremendous day of traffic. Six more days until the start of Pitt camp!

** The Pitt football program will receive a big visitor today. 2018 4-star wide receiver Justin Shorter (South Brunswick, New Jersey) is expected to be in town today.  We were the first to tell you about Shorter’s visit last week. This elite talent has already been offered by every big school in the country and is coming off a weekend visit to Penn State. We’ll have more with Shorter following his visit.

** With the commitment last night of Upper St.  Clair OT Gabe Houy, Pitt now has verbals from 2 offensive lineman (Houy and Owen Drexel). How many more offensive lineman does Pitt want to take? I’m being told that the number could be 4. Players such as Carter Warren, Thayer Munford, Connor Robbins and Josh Fedd-Jackson are at the top of Pitt’s O-Line priority list.

UPDATE (12:32 PM)-

** Big offer for Beaver Falls DT Donovan Jeter as he picks up offer from the Georgia Bulldogs.

UPDATE (12:45 PM)-

** I was able to confirm that Pitt received 2 out of town visitors yesterday.  2018 prospects Jamion Franklin and David Bailey, both from North Caroline High School in Maryland both were in town yesterday. Neither have been offered by Pitt but that certainly could change.

Franklin is a big (6-3, 305) defensive tackle that is actually still looking for his first Power 5 offer.

“My overall thoughts were that Pitt is a special place and the campus was nice. The Cathedral of Learning was great and I was shocked to learn about the history of it,” said Franklin.

“I was surprised about how prideful the city of Pittsburgh is about Pitt. At first I thought it was all about the Steelers but it’s evenly distributed.”

“I spoke with Coach Simms and Coach Narduzzi and the conversation was great and not only about football but life as well and how important it is to take opportunities when they’re presented. They kept it real as can be and I that’s all I can ask for,” said Franklin.

“Based on my experience,  Pitt is definitely close to the top of the list. It was a nice visit and they kept it real.”

UPDATE (1:00 PM)-

** Franklin’s teammate is David Bailey, who’s currently playing running back and linebacker in high school.

“It was a nice campus and I liked it a lot.  I also love the direction they’re going with the program,” said Bailey.

“The most thing that stood out most was the Cathedral of Learning and how 75% of your classes are in that building. I was surprised at how long Coach Narduzzi sat out with us and had a nice talk about how important relationship are.”

“Coach Powell and it was very nice how we got to sit down and watch highlights about your position. After this visit,  Pitt is definitely one of the schools at the top of my list.”

UPDATE (4:48 PM)-

** If you’ve been on Twitter today, you’ve probably noticed the hashtag #412University.  What’s the meaning behind that?

One of the incoming Pitt recruits told me “#412University is something that the 2017 Pitt recruiting class came up with together, so that fans, players, recruits..etc could tweet out.”
