Pat Narduzzi added commitment #11 today and he’s a local one. 3-star Upper St. Clair OT Gabe Houy gave a verbal commitment tonight to Pitt. Before making the announcement official, Houy met with the Pitt coaches first to tell them in person. In the end, Houy selected his hometown school over Maryland.
“The attention that Pitt put into recruiting me plus the relationship that I have with the entire coaching staff was big for me,” said Houy. “Plus, Pitt coaches made it known to me from the start that I was a priority on the offensive line for them.”

“Pitt has always been my favorite but I just wanted to make sure that in the end I was making the right decision.”
Narduzzi and offensive line coach John Peterson are recruiting Houy (6-6, 275) as an offensive tackle and he’ll be teammates again with a former teammate at Upper St. Clair, Brandon Ford.
“I’ve talked with Brandon and he’s just told me what a good fit it would be for me and the right direction that Pitt is headed,” said Houy.
Houy is just relieved that the decision is out of the way and he can concentrate on his senior season at USC.
