Pitt wide receiver target Ethan Feaster.

Pitt has expanded its recruiting focus to talent-rich Texas over the last few months. With the ACC expanding out west, the Panthers have tried to establish a foothold in the Lone Star state and bring in some under-the-radar recruits from the area.

Feaster — a 6-foot-2, 180-pound wide receiver from DeSoto High in Texas — is just a freshman, but he certainly isn’t under the radar.

Pitt was the 43 school to offer Feaster in the very early days of his recruiting process.

He holds Power Four offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Cal, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Houston, Illinois, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Purdue, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UCF and USC.

Jacob Bronowski, who has taken the lead in recruiting in recruiting, extended the offer from Pitt. It remains to be seen whether any sort of relationship will be built over the next few seasons, but he would certainly be a good recruit to bring on campus.

Feaster was a key cog in an undefeated DeSoto squad as a true freshman, hauling in 32 passes for 634 yards (19.8 yards per reception) and nine touchdowns.

He hasn’t been rated by any of the major recruiting services yet, considering the class of 2027 is still a ways away from the spotlight, but it’s almost certain that Feaster will be the first- or second-ranked wideout and a five-star recruit.

Pitt has already extended offers to more than a handful of recruits from the class of 2027, including local recruits in Jance Henry (Central Valley), Armand Hill (West Mifflin), Carter Bonner (Shady Side), Larry Moon (Aliquippa), Kemon Spell (McKeesport), Gabriel Jenkins (Imani Christian) and Khalil Taylor (Seton La Salle).
