JaDun Michael has trimmed his list of school to eight, and Pitt made the cut for the Class of 2020 6-foot-5 wing from Burlington, North Carolina.
Michael had originally been committed and even signed to play at Wichita State, but was released from his letter of intent and re-opened his commitment on March 30.
His top eight includes Cincinnati, Eastern Carolina, Elon, NC State, Penn State, Texas A&M and Virginia in addition to Pitt.
Pitt has made contact with Michael multiple times, with both head coach Jeff Capel and assistant Jason Capel making contact with the consensus four-star recruit.
Michael is rated as the No. 108 player in the Class of 2020 by 247 Sports’ composite ratings and the No. 4 player in North Carolina. He would be the second-highest rated prospect in Pitt’s current Class of 2020.
Pitt has two open scholarships following the transfers of shooting guards Trey McGowens to Nebraska and Ryan Murphy to Tulane.
The Panthers remaining top targets include Michael, Erie small forward Will Jeffress, potentially reclassifying Malian center Adama Sanogo, Canadian guard Karim Mane and Rice shooting guard transfer Trey Murphy III.
Omg would you guys stop with the pitt made the top 8 or top 10 ,it doesnt mean nothing ,now top.2 or 3 ok ,but top 8 cmon
yeah there’s just so much other stuff to cover right now
We can’t control how many schools they cut it to when they cut their list. I’d prefer if they were no more than five. But even as it is, making a cut down from 30 or so to eight is still news, especially in basketball where they only have a handful of real targets.
I get that alan ,and i understand there’s not much going on right now ,i guess it’s just annoying to me that these kids have to announce top 15’s on down ,im just not a big fan that
He wants to decide next weekend already, according to Jake W.
It’d be nice to beat a big program for a transfer (of any type).
