Wide Receiver Tre Tipton Returning To Pitt For Additional Season

Published

Pitt’s wide receiver room will be keeping a player with both experience and talent in it for the upcoming season.

Pittsburgh Sports Now has confirmed that Tre Tipton will be returning to play a final season with his hometown Pitt Panthers. Tipton was part of Pat Narduzzi’s first recruiting class back in 2015 and is hoping to finish his college career with a productive and injury free season.

Unfortunately for Tipton, he’s battled injuries for a large part of his career but when healthy, he’s a productive and valuable player. Pitt will be looking for a player to lineup in the slot, which is something that Tipton can do well. Tipton was granted a sixth season of eligibility and a medical hardship waiver after missing a majority of the 2019 season with a knee injury.

Last season in six games, Tipton caught 11 passes for 104 yards, with his most productive games coming against Virginia Tech when he caught 4 passes for 38 yards.

The 2021 Pitt wide receiver depth chart will have a mix of youth and experience with Tipton, Jordan Addison, Shocky Jaques-Louis, Jared Wayne, Jaylon Barden, Aydin Henningham, Will Gipson, Myles Alston and Jaden Bradley. PSN has not yet been able to confirm is Taysir Mack will be returning to Pitt.

Tipton joins Cal Adomitis, Phil Campbell, Kenny Pickett, Chase Pine, John Petrishen, Lucas Krull, Keyshon Camp and Jake Zilinskas as seniors that Pittsburgh Sports Now have confirmed that are taking advantage of the opportunity to play an additional season of college football.
