Decision Day Finally Here for Five Star Efton Reid After Quiet Recruitment Process

Today is the day for five star big man Efton Reid, as he is finally set to make his college decision after a lengthy, quiet recruitment.

Reid has not released a list of top schools, but most recruiting sites believe that Pitt, Virginia, Ohio State, Florida State, and NC State are all in the mix. He also holds offers from more high major schools that could be in the mix too, including Michigan, Illinois, Kansas, Virginia Tech, LSU, Florida, and more.

The 6-foot-11, class of 2021 big man is a five-star prospect who played his high school ball for The Steward School prior to transferring to IMG Academy for a post-grad season. Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Reid is ranked between No. 21 and No. 24 on all of 247Sports, Rivals, and ESPN’s recruiting rankings.

“He is really skilled,” 247 Sports’ Director of Basketball Scouting Jerry Meyer told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “He has good hands, has a reliable go-to move with his right hand jump hook, and then he can turn over the other shoulder as well. He has been trained and coached well, and has great footwork. He is not overly athletic or explosive, but he is mobile and he is a really long guy who takes up a lot of space. He has more of a traditional back-to-the-basket game but can also step out and catch and shoot from outside.”

If Reid were to commit to Pitt, he would become the second commit in the class of 2021 to commit to Pitt in the past two weeks, after 6-foot-7 wing Nate Santos pledged his commitment to Jeff Capel’s program back on April 6.

The one guy who predicted Pitt changed his prediction to Florida State… we are really setting ourselves up for disappointment here.

So, exactly what time of day will we learn that he’s going to FSU?

So what makes anyone really think Pitt is in the mix? Sure I’d love to get him but he hasn’t visited and there is NOTHING that points to him signing with Pitt over say, Tulane or Nevada! I’d love to be shocked with a Pitt decision, but there seems to be a lot of talk about something that isn’t going to happen. I think the only thing Pitt can offer him at this time is immediate playing time against high quality opponents. That’s it. The program is a mess and Pitt will kit be making the tournament this coming season.… Read more »

Prime Time announcement kind of leans toward FSU. Just saying. PRIME TIME
He’s a one n done anyway.
And didn’t HC Capel say he wanted players that want to stay and grow?

Sounds like Pitt don’t know what they want.

We shall see
