Die-Hards: Pitt ‘Circling The Wagons’ For A Committed 2024 Recruit

The thing about recruiting is that it’s literally a year long process.

Regardless of when a team receives a verbal commitment from a player, that commitment isn’t binding until National Signing Day in December or the second Signing Day in February.

Because of that, not only do programs need to continue to recruit that player, but they also don’t want to burn bridges with players that originally might not have chosen them. As the saying goes, stuff happens, and a team might re-approach that player prior to Signing Day or in a couple of years if they enter the transfer portal.

That’s happened recently with Pitt with a player that’s currently still committed to another Power Five program.
