While on their bye week, the Pitt staff has extended offers, particularly in the Philadelphia/New Jersey region.

On Wednesday, Corey Sanders was busy recruiting Philadelphia and offered a tremendous athlete with blazing speed.

Ziyyon Bredell (6’1”, 175) attends Lincoln High School in Philadelphia. This becomes his second Power Five offer to go along with his first one from Nebraska.

Bredell, who’s also an accomplished track runner, plays both wide receiver and defensive back. Pitt wants to use him and his 4.5 speed in the secondary.

Pittsburgh Sports Now had the opportunity to talk with Bredell on Wednesday after he received the news from Sanders and Pitt.

“Coach Sanders told me that I’m a really good athlete and also said they’re offering me as a defensive back,” said Bredell. “He came to see me on Tuesday to see how I looked and also how my grades looked.”

”My strengths on defense are my speed and the how physical I play. It doesn’t matter to me where I play, I’m an athlete and will play wherever the coach wants me to play.”

Pitt has a good history recruiting in Philadelphia. They’ve been able to land safely Javon McIntrye and currently have a commitment from 4-star defensive tackle Jahsear Whittington.

”Something that really stands out to me about Pitt is their academics,” said Bredell. “They’re a tremendous university. As I’m looking at schools, I’m looking at academic first because you can’t accomplish anything in life without academics. I’m looking into sports management. Obviously I know Pitt is a really good football program as well.”

Bredell tells PSN that he’s currently lining up so Saturday GameDay visits and definitely plans on traveling to Pittsburgh in the near future.
