Pitt’s Ishmael Leggett Surpasses 1,000-Point Mark Against Florida

On Wednesday night, Pitt guard Ishmael Leggett surpassed the 1,000-point mark in his career with a 19-point effort in Pitt’s loss to Florida.

He hit seven of his 20 attempts on Wednesday night to lead the Panthers in scoring. Leggett knocked down three of his eight three-point tries and hit both of his free throws.

Leggett played three years for Rhode Island before transferring to Pitt this past offseason. At Rhode Island, he averaged 6.6 points as a freshman, 8.3 as a sophomore, and 16.4 as a junior for the Rams. Leggett has had a strong start to the season for the Panthers, scoring _ points per game so far through five games.

Leggett wrapped up the Florida game with 1,011 career points.

 

Pitt will now take on Oregon State in the third-place game of the Preseason NIT event on Friday at 3 p.m. in Brooklyn.
