After falling nine spots with a loss to Florida on Wednesday, Pitt has risen back up Kenpom.com’s rankings with its win over Oregon State.
The Panthers came into that game ranked No. 51 on the site and are now at No. 41 with their dominant win over Oregon State under their belt. Pitt’s adjusted offensive rating ranks 51st in the nation, while its adjusted defensive rating is No. 36 in the country. Pitt’s strength of schedule rating still ranks No. 325 in the nation due to its early non-conference slate. However, although Oregon State was ranked as low as No. 169 before the matchup (and No. 191 now), the metrics seemed to appreciate Pitt’s 25-point win.
The Panthers covered the ten-point spread with ease, moving to 5-1 against the spread on the year.
Pitt now has three big games in a row, with matchups lined up against Missouri, Clemson, and West Virginia. The Panthers have a chance to enter Morgantown with a record of 7-1 on the year and potentially sit at 8-1 heading into their game against Canisius. What do you think Pitt’s record will be in these three games?
